Meantime, you’re invited to share some history that happened on Sunday, Oct. 13, 1957, when CBS preempted the Ed Sullivan Show to help Ford Motor Co. introduce a new car!

That live broadcast from CBS Television City in Hollywood generated what are now the oldest publicly known-to-survive videotapes—this is one—and we’ll be celebrating these recordings and the show 64 year later, on the same day and at the same time the show was transmitted live to the East and Central time zones, while being recorded on Ampex Videotape® recorders at Television City in Hollywood and Grand Central Terminal in New York City.
